Word has come from above and we now have a publication date for the Launchpad anthology. Featuring stories about astronomy, the exploration of space, and related themes, the anthology, from Event Horizon publishers, will be out in ebook on September 14 and in trade paperback a month after that. Edited by Michael Brotherton and Jody Lynn Nye. On his blog, Mike says:
“Jody Lynn Nye and I have co-edited a collection of stories by Launch Pad alumni for a collection called “Launch Pad” that may become the first of a series. The stories are mostly new, with a few reprints, and generally involve astronomy, the exploration of space, and related themes. Some really good stories in here.”
My story is called “The Last Probe,” and is about a robotic, AI probe who overshoots her destination by many thousands of years and uncovers something bizarre and curious in a distant solar system. Here’s the book cover, with art from David Cherry:
