Reading at NYRSF and Analog Blog Post

Next Tuesday, I’ll be reading at NYRSF with Mercurio D. Rivera, with whom I wrote the novelette “The Walk to Distant Suns,” out in the current Analog Science Fiction & Fact. The reading will take place on March 5th at The Brooklyn Commons. Full details are available here.

Mercurio and I also have a blog post up on the Analog web site where we discuss how we fought violently worked swimmingly together in our collaborative novelette “The Walk to Distant Suns.” You can read that here.

Oh, and I finished my YA novel. But more to come later on that!

NYRSF Reading with Brooke Bolander

King of Shards by Matthew Kressel

King of Shards

“Surreal and exotic…Scary, exhilarating fun!”

On Tuesday, October 6th, I’ll be reading alongside Brooke Bolander at the NYRSF reading series curated by Jim Freund and guest curated this month by Amy Goldschlager. I’ve read once at NYRSF, a few years back as part of a reading for Ellen Datlow’s anthology After. And I’ve long enjoyed the series that Jim Freund and Amy Goldschalger have run. Jim and Amy have managed to keep the series going despite having to switch locations many times. I do think the current location is one of the best. The Brooklyn Commons, it’s got a cafe in the front, plenty of comfortable seating, and live TV broadcast capability to boot. I’m quite pleased to read beside Brooke Bolander, whose fiction I’ve been admiring for a while now.

I’ll be reading excerpts from King of Shards, my novel which debuts on October 13th. Copies will be for sale.

Where:

The Brooklyn Commons
388 Atlantic Avenue (between Hoyt & Bond St.)
Brooklyn, NY 11217

When:

Tuesday, October 6th, 7pm (doors at 6:30pm).

More info on the reading can be found here.
