I finally had time to finish this render weekend. I call this one “Sunday Morning in the City,” and it’s my vision of what New York City might look like in a future where solar power and a green philosophy is widely adopted. Some might call this a “solarpunk” future, and I’m fine with that. I know there has been a lot of criticism against the solarpunk movement for its greenwashing, embrace of the most destructive aspects of capitalism and crypto NFTs. But I think a lot of that criticism is just growing pains. Solarpunk, like all movements, is constantly morphing. For me, ultimately, I wanted to show that a green, clean-energy future is not so alien or difficult to reach. It’s just a few plants and solar panels away from what we already have.
