Sometimes, I’m not writing. I occupy my time with various and sundry tasks. Feeding my cat, learning to play the trumpet, reading, feeding the cat, not cleaning my apartment, feeding the cat. And sometimes I design web pages for folks. You may have seen the one I recently did for writer Nicholas Kaufmann, or Weird Tales, or the Columbia University Math Department.
Well, I just finished building one for Beneath Ceaseless Skies. Scott H. Andrews approached me several months ago, and we began building the site on a WordPress framework. It was a lot of work adding all the custom features, but it was also a lot of fun. One of the things about running the Fantastic Fiction at KGB series and being involved with genre in general is I get to interact with a lot of highly skilled editors on a regular basis. And one trait I see among them more than any other is attention to detail. Scott is no different. Working with him I got to see the attention to detail and love he has for his magazine, and really, just how damn hard he works to keep it running. I know, from running Sybil’s Garage, just how difficult it is to produce a magazine. And that was an annual thing. Scott does this every two weeks, and has been releasing on-time for more than four years.
So do yourself a favor and go check out the new site, with amazing art by Raphael Lacoste, and if you feel so inclined, please comment on the new design. We always love feedback.
